A Question on a lot of people's minds is why make this game Dragon Ball Z and not Dragon Ball Super? It's apparent that Dragon Ball Super is "Super" popular, pun intended, and a video game solely based on the anime/ manga series would be well received. However, we have to take a step back and look at why Z is actually the best foundation to build upon. Looking at the structure of the game, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is set in a semi-open world, and is an action rpg game. The reason we say semi-open world is because while withing each area you're able to traverse freely, in order to keep things true to the series, the developers had to choose to close off a truly open world experience. Otherwise you'd have people going to places like Namek during times when in the anime they didn't have knowledge of Namek or it was destroyed. So its clear that loication is a big part of an action rpg game that Cyberconnect2 wants to build. So in looking at locations and thinking about Dragon Ball Super, how many different locations were there in the series to merit it being chosen over Z? you have Earth, Beerus' planet, and other than that the two locations for he tournaments, and Future Trunks location. Were as in Z you have Earth, the lookout, Namek, King Kais planet, Snake Way, Supreme Kais Planet, and more. So as far as locations go Z wins there. Now looking at a deeper reason for Z over Super, the developers stated that with the great success of super there has been an influx of new fans to the series, and they wanted to use the game to give those new fans a look into the background of Super. This makes sense as when I stated watching Dragon Ball Z as a kid, I had no clue about Dragon Ball, and had I known at the time I would have started with that to get major backstory into Dragon Ball Z. Also I would have loved to see a Dragon Ball based game as well, so the same hold true for now. These new fans to the Dragon Ball Franchise don't have a true Dragon Ball Z game to play and tell them about the story. Sometimes you have to take a step back to see the big picture. People look at it as "the same old story", but what Cyberconnect2 in partnershit with the creator of Dragon Ball Akira Toriyama, have added nostalgia, amazing cut-scenes, and original content for that game that has truly made this a invitingly unique experience for the new and old. All in all what Cyberconnect2 has done so far with this game has not only attracted new fans to the series, but has captivated older fans as well as changed the minds of the nay sayers. This game will be legendary and we will be streaming live January 17th 2019 see you there #dragonballzkakarot
